Okolla to take on Mauritian Oliver in heavyweight duel at Charter Hall

A thrilling heavyweight bout pitting Morris Okolla and Cedric Oliver will be staged at the Charter Hall in Nairobi on Saturday.

The fight dubbed 'Clash Of The Giants' will be preceded by other six undercards.

"I'm ready to beat my opponent inside three rounds," Okolla declared during the weigh-in ceremony held at a Nairobi hotel on Friday.

In response Oliver remarked, "My opponent talks a lot; let us finish this in the ring once and for all."

Of the two, Okolla is the most experienced, boasting 16 fights including 12 wins (10KOs) and 4 losses (3KOs).

Oliver has so far has only four fights which all have been won.

Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) who has sanctioned the contest says the event promises to deliver an unforgettable night of boxing in Nairobi today, showcasing both emerging and established talents. Fans can look forward to intense matchups, sportsmanship, and the vibrant atmosphere that only Kenyan boxing can provide.

KPBC chairman Reuben Ndolo urged fans to come up in large numbers to witness what promises to be a huge night of boxing.

Ndolo stated, "This promises to be a huge night of boxing and we ask all Kenyans to come watch these bouts. We have other fight nights lined up later on in the year in Mombasa, Lamu and Kisumu."

He further added: "We shall have one more big event in Nairobi where boxers from Mauritius, Tanzania, DRC and other regions will be taking part in."
