Musingu High School from Kakamega are the 2025 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations football boys silver medalists.

The Western Region champions who also won silver during this year's KSSSA National Term two games finished second in the East African games after losing 2-1 to Bukedea from Uganda in the final that was moved to Moi Stadium in Kisumu after crowd trouble in Kakamega.

On Thursday, the semi-final match pitting St Joseph Boys Kitale and Musingu was marred with crowd trouble after fans stormed Bukhungu Stadium field when Musingu scored a late equaliser that tied the scores at 1-1 with two minutes left on the clock.

The match would be postponed and was played in Kisumu yesterday where after resuming for two minutes, the two sides went to extra-time and then penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Musingu who lost to St Joseph during the national finals 1-0 exerted their revenge with a 4-3 win in post-match penalties to set a date against Bukedea who had knocked out Butere Boys 1-0 in the semifinals.

In the finals, despite taking the lead through Shaban Qwimba, Musingu's complacency at the back saw Bukedea net the equaliser through Businge Yabil who went on to score the winner in the final half and be crowned new East African champions.

Bukedea replaces Amus College also from Uganda as the new kings of football in the championship played amongst Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.

At the same time, St Noa Girls from Uganda retained their football girls title after narrowly seeing off their fellow country mates Kawempe Muslim 1-0 at Bukhungu Stadium.

National champions Butere Girls finished a distant fifth as Nasokol, Kobala Girls and Madira failed to impress in Kakamega.
