Defending champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) on Sunday moved two points clear in the Kenya Basketball Federation women's Premier League standings after thrashing Jomo

Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Lynx 94-34 at the Makande gymnasium in Mombasa.

Despite the absence of dependable Kenya Lioness point guard Natalie Akinyi, the dockers maintained their unbeaten run in the 2022 season as they registered their 10th straight victory of the season.

Fresh from their second-place finish at the FIBA Zone V Championship in Tanzania, KPA led 25-09 after a good start initiated by Rebecca Nkatha, Rachel Wandago, and Jemima Night.

The hosts put the game to bed as early as the second quarter after a perfect 24-0 performance that saw them lead with a massive 49-9 at the break.

Despite improving in the final half, KPA was no match for the Nairobi students who ended up losing the third and fourth quarters 20-10 and 25-15 respectively.

The win saw KPA move two points clear at the top with 20 points as Storms who had moved joint top dropped to second on 18 points.
At Nyayo Stadium, inform the University of Nairobi Dynamites saw off Strathmore Swords 45-41.

The win took the Dynamites to 15 points from the eight matches they have played so far. They have won seven and lost one and currently sit at position four on the log.
Strathmore now has 13 points from nine matches played, having won four and lost five.
In another match played at the same venue, Kenyatta University Oryx clipped Eagle Wings 36-35.
