Maximila Imali has bowed out of the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Imali failed to progress to the finals of the women's 100m final after finishing fifth in the final semifinals on Wednesday evening.

The only Kenyan in the semis, Imali lacked pace and agility as she clocked 11.35 to bow out of the competition.

Local favourite Daryll Neita of England won the semis in a Personal Best time of 10.90 to glide into the finals alongside Rosemary Chukwuma of Nigeria.

Tynia Gather of Bahamas and Natalia Nyte of Jamaica occupied the last two fast losers spots after timing 11.17seconds each.

Olympic champion Thomson Hera won her semifinals in 11.05 and will be seeking gold in the finals after a disappointing World Athletics Championship in Oregon last week.

Hera lost to her countrymate Frasher Pryce in the finals of the women's 100m in the United States.
