Tunisia announces presidential election calendar

Tunisia's Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) announced the calendar for the next presidential election, set for Oct 6, the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) reported on Friday.

According to the TAP, the ISIE will announce the final list of presidential candidates on Sept. 3. The electoral campaign will start on Sept. 14 and end on Oct. 4. The final results of the presidential election will be announced by Nov. 9 at the latest.

Tunisia holds a presidential election every five years. The current president of the country, Kais Saied, was elected in 2019. Saied has not yet announced whether he will participate in the coming election.
