Kenyan players picked mixed results as the World Youth Chess Championship entered its second day at the Durban Convention Centre, in South Africa. On the board, Kenya's participant in the Girls under-8 category Jia Hiranandani Rajesh won her second game and became one of the locals who picked a point. She beat South Africa's Rayneke Melindie. On the first day, Hirandani lost to American Wu Racheli. Another Kenyan Gilliane Titi edged out Botswana's Dambe Celestinah. The Standard Five pupil at Nairobi Pentecostal Church Academy had lost her opening game to South African player Staal Michaela Francis.
