Uganda Cranes edge Kenya to lift Pearl Of Africa T20 cricket trophy

Uganda edged Kenya by 6 runs to lift the Tri-Nation Cricket Series played at Entebbe Cricket Oval in Entebbe on Friday.

Frank Akankwasa of Uganda emerged man of the match on 2/11(4), 12(10).

Ronak Patel 27(22), Saud Islam 26 (25) and Simon Ssesazi 21(26) were among some of the host's top scorers.

Kenya had better play from Gurdeep Singh 44(43), Irfan Karim 21(21) and Shem Ngoche 20 (25).

Karim finished as Kenya's top run-scorer with 160 runs at 32.40 with Singh and Alex Obanda second and third in that order.

Ngoche finished as the only bowler with 2 maidens and 9 wickets.

Uganda have now won five of their last seven outings against Kenya.

The victory saw Ugandans throng social media to offer praises to their squad.

"It's home," Dru Suave noted.

Isaac Lockett said: "Honestly, it has made me so happy to see the Kenyan side back in action after two years."
