Media personality Moshe Ndiki has been mourning the death of his puppy Sugar Ndiki. On Tuesday, the South African TV host held a luxurious funeral service, attended by close friends and family at his residence. However, Ndiki ensured fans were part of the send-off by streaming the memorial service on his Instagram live.
"Beautiful and amazing send off for my baby. Thank you to everyone that sent condolences, attended the funeral and sent us heartwarming messages,” wrote Ndiki on Instagram.
In June 18, while announcing his dog’s demise, Ndiki explained the emotional turmoil he faced, saying he was devastated that Sugar wouldn’t meet his sibling.
“I’ve been going through the most the past 2 days, trying to put it aside just for me to work and we’ll just work and saying to myself I’ll grieve on Sunday, baby I love you so much. I love you and hope the other side treats you well, glad to have loved you, known you and been your dad and mom,” wrote Ndiki.
He added: “So many memories, you’ve been my 1st born and and what a putty you couldn’t meet your sibling, I’m shattered.”
While most people thought the actor went overboard with the funeral arrangements, Ndiki said he had no problem spending his money in such a manner, adding that his dog deserved a proper send-off.
“A luxurious send-off was definitely befitting for Sugar. He deserved it and that’s what I wanted to do for him and I believe in doing things that I want with my life and my money,” said Ndiki.
In an interview with TrueLove, Ndiki, who disclosed that Sugar died after being bitten by a bigger dog, stated that he had the dog for five years and that’s why his death was very emotional to him.
“I’ve had Sugar for five years and he was my baby. I got him at a time where I really really needed a loyal companion and at a time where everything in my life was going really well, so I thought I should just get a dog,” said Ndiki.
