DStv cuts prices of mobile TV gadgets by 27pc percent

DStv Mobile has announced a 27 per cent price reduction for the Walka, the Drifta and the USB Drifta. 

The devices will now retail at Sh7500 for the Walka down from Sh10250 and Sh7500 for the Drifta, down from Sh10,150. The USB Drifta will now go for Sh4,500 for the down from Sh6,700.

Mr Felix Kyengo, the DStv Mobile General Manager said the devices would enable consumers’ access and control their television viewing at all times.

“We are in a season of exciting content like Big Brother StarGame, Euro 2012 and the Olympics of local consumers would not like to miss out on the action. The promotion will ensure all interested consumers get an opportunity to obtain the device and in continuing with the 15-year Multichoice tradition of ensuring DStv content is available to all at real time”.

The Walka is a DVB-H handheld TV device, which enables DStv subscribers to watch television on the go and at any time.

 Whilst the Drifta devices are a mobile TV decoder that receives DVB-H signals and are compatible with Apple products and Windows PC’s.

Subscribers have access to up to 15 channels with subscription at Sh380 for the Mini package, Sh946 for the Maxi package while DStv premium subscribers have access to the Maxi plus package for free.
