Shock as 14-year-old girl is defiled by six men in Bomet

Police in Bomet County are investigating a case where a 14-year-old girl was defiled by six men in separate incidents.

In the first incident, the Form Two student was defiled in Longisa town after initially being lured by two men on a motorcycle who picked her from Kyogong shopping centre.

The girl had been sent to a nearby shop by her mother on Wednesday but failed to return home. She called her mother the following day, saying she was in Litein town.

Police said the two men who picked the girl took her to a mud house in Longisa, where they were joined by three other men who took turns defiling her.

“After the act, the two persons who had picked her returned her to Kyogong at 8 pm. She feared going home and walked towards Bomet town, where, upon reaching Kipchimatt supermarket, she met another man who lured her to his home where he also defiled and spent the night with her,” states a police report.

In the morning, the man kicked the girl out of his house. She walked to Litein town where she was taken to Longisa Referral Hospital for examination and treatment.

Police are looking for the suspects involved.

Elsewhere in Siaya County, police are looking for a man who escaped while being escorted to custody.

Peter Ooko had been arrested after absconding court over a defilement case. He was traced to Imbaya village, Ugunja, where he was found in his house. He was handcuffed but as he was being taken to the car, he took off vanishing into a nearby thicket near Uranga dam.

“The officers, with the assistance of members of the public, are still combing the area and efforts to apprehend him are underway,” said police.
