AP officer killed under unclear circumstances

An Administration Police (AP) was killed under unclear circumstances almost exactly a year after his pregnant wife was also shot and killed under similar circumstances.

The lifeless body of Justus Too, an officer attached to Kotulo police station in Wajir County, was found at 3am on Wednesday lying by the side of the Londiani-Muhuroni road near Jambo Kenya trading center.

At the time of the incident, the late Too was off duty and was spending his leave at his home village at Kaplaba in Kipkelion West constituency.

Kericho County Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Stephen Magwe said the first officers to arrive at the scene initially thought it was a road accident but further examination of the body proved otherwise.

"The Kipkelion Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Kipkelion Officer Commanding Station determined that it was not a road accident but a murder case. The deceased's body had multiple stab wounds on the neck and had been assaulted by use of a blunt object," he said.

Magwe, added that that the body had bruises on the thighs and there were signs that the body had been dragged for about 40 meters to the road.

"This means that the deceased had been killed elsewhere and dragged to the road to make it look like it was a road accident," he said.
