Nakuru, Kenya: Police officers are conducting a man hunt to arrest a middle aged man for allegedly burning dead his girlfriend with hot water at Lake View estate within Nakuru town.
Confirming the incident, Nakuru police boss Bernard Kioko said the incident was reported by Margret Nduta who had visited her deceased sister Esther Wanjiru on December 30 and found her lying dead with severe burn wounds.
"The killing incident was reported by the deceased sister who had payed her a visit to usher the new year with her," said Kioko.
Police officers took her body to Nakuru Municipal mortuary for postmortem.
However, Kioko said the deceased might have been killed by her boyfriend following a love triangle because he had allegedly been spotted with him before the brutal killings.
"According to residents who reside near the deceased house, her boyfriend poured hot water on her causing her severe burns. Police have commenced investigations to arrest the suspect," said Kioko.
Following the killing, the police boss has warned young couples and youths against killing each other due to love disputes saying those found will be arrested and charged with murder.
"It is worrying those in love mostly young adults are opting to kill each other whenever they face a dispute in their relationship. This should stop with immediate effect as those found will be charged with murder," he warned.
The killing happens only two days after another middle aged man still at large allegedly stabbed his 26-year-old girlfriend with a knife to death in Mbaathi estate, Nakuru town.
