former Rift police boss John M'Mbijiwe, Waiganjo case moved from Nairobi

The trial of former Rift Valley provincial police boss John M'Mbijiwe and police imposter Joshua Waiganjo will be heard in Nakuru next year after the Nairobi High Court ordered the case transferred.

Former Anti-Stock Theft Police Commander Michael Ngugi is also facing a charge similar to Mr M'Mbijiwe's in the joint case where the former police boss and Mr Waiganjo are facing three counts each.

The case was transferred from the Milimani Law Courts to a chief magistrate's court after Waiganjo, who serving a two-year sentence at Naivasha Maximum Prison, requested the case to be transferred to Nakuru.

The three accused denied the charges before a Nairobi magistrate in August last year.

Chief Magistrate Samuel Mungai yesterday fixed the hearing for January 13, 14 and 15, before Senior Principal Magistrate Felix Kombo.
