Frames come in all shapes and design. You can use empty frames to spice up your walls. Be it a frame that once held together a piece of art or a picture or some interesting cloth, picture frames dress up the walls no matter what style of home you have. They also make a beautiful work of art.
You need a collection of exquisite looking frames (small, medium, or large sized) onto which you can attach letters within it or leave it empty.

The best place to start this decorative journey would be at car boot sales. The major shopping malls in Nairobi hold garage sales every once a month. Thrift shops also offer a place to gather an assortment of picture frames varying in size, shape and texture.
Remove the artwork or photos in them and cut to remove picture wire using a screwdriver and wire cutters. Cover the area you are going to place the frame with a piece of protective cloth or paper. Afterwards determine the height and width of the wall on which to hang the frame using a tape measure. Create a layout template.
Placement
Play with the frames’ layout until you have decided on the placement. You could try by tracing each frame’s dimensions onto paper using a pencil or marker. Roll this template paper out on a long, flat surface and trace each frame’s dimensions onto the paper using pencil or marker.
To achieve uniformity, leave approximately the same amount of space between each frame. If you achieve the dimensions you visualised, then place the tracing paper on the wall and trace the measurements where the your frame will be placed.
Colour
When choosing a frame, look at the colour of your wall. Is it finished using wallpaper or is it just plain concrete. You could place a frame with a strong colour within the border of a larger frame with light colour to create contrast.
It also helps to draw your eye to the framing rather than the background wall.
There are lots of different styles of frames and types of finishes available so select samples to test them out.
Even though they say the size of the frame is best left to a professional’s eye as proportion is difficult to work with, with time and some thinking put into it, you sure will definitely be able to achieve a look that is appropriate.
Generally, you could also mix wide and narrow frames or hung a bunch of quirky looking empty frames on the wall just as they are, using any random order or placement. At the end you will have your collage masterpiece ready to show off.
