Damita Jets in For Nairobi Concert

US gospel diva Damita Haddon is in Nairobi forthe ‘Recharge 2009’ concert. The celebrated singer arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Tuesday at 7.30pm via KLM and headed to her hotel. "Nairobi is a beautiful cool place and am glad to be here. Damita is the wife to Grammy nominated gospel artiste, Deitrick Haddon. ‘Recharge 2009’ will be the first ever two-day international gospel event. It will also be headlined by multi-award winning top-selling Caribbean Gospel superstar Sherwin Gardner. Gardner is locally known for the hit songs My House and Looking For You.

The former member of Adoration ‘N Prayze and noted soloist with Voices of Unity has stepped out solo at a time when the field is both fertile and competitive.

The ‘Recharge 2009 Experience’ will take place tonight at the Nairobi Baptist Church from 6pm till 11pm and on Sunday. The event will then move to Nairobi Pentecostal Church Karen from 3pm till 8pm on Sunday.
