Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority chairman Omondi Anyanga has called on Azimio supporters to back President William Ruto's administration.
Mr Anyanga, who spoke in Nairobi on Sunday, said no country can thrive when politicking takes centre stage.
"The political season is over. Now, it is time to work. Unity of purpose in what we require most towards building our great nation," he said.
The former Nyatike MP said the president had so far shown enthusiasm to carry every region along, including Nyanza that supported Azimio leader Raila Odinga in the last election.
He said State appointments given to key figures from Nyanza was proof that Ruto meant well for the region.
"I thank the President for having faith in me to lead such a crucial agency. He has been magnanimous to Nyanza on appointments despite how the region voted," said Anyanga.
The Nuclear Regulatory agency chairman is among the latest people to have been appointed to plum State jobs.
In a gazette notice last Thursday, Ruto and his Cabinet secretaries made several appointments and revoked those of more than 30 people appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ruto's high profile appointees from Nyanza include ICT CS Eliud Owalo, Interior PS Raymond Omollo, Chief of Staff in the office of the DP George McGoye and SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority chairman Jack Ranguma.
Anyanga said Ruto's recent visit to Nyanza was an indication that he will not discriminate the Luo community. "My appointment is another demonstration by the President of his commitment to bringing everyone on board in his administration," he said.
He added that under his leadership, the nuclear regulator will ensure Kenya goes for safe and sustainable harnessing of nuclear resources.
"The nuclear regulatory board will endeavour to ensure the country embraces innovative harnessing of nuclear resources as the 21st century demands. We will tap into local expertise and learn from across the world," he said.
Anyanga spoke as tension continued to rise within Azimio, where some MPs have openly criticized Raila's anti-Ruto rallies.
