Francis Kimemia embraces President ahead of today's Nyandarua visit

Former Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia has thrown his weight behind President William Ruto's administration ahead of his visit to the county for a thanksgiving service today.

Dr Ruto is scheduled to attend the service at Wanjohi Primary School in Kipipiri constituency.

The former governor added that now that the electoral period is over, all leaders, regardless of their political affiliations, should support the government to actualise its mandate.

"For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to categorically assure President Ruto and the people of Kenya that I fully support his administration in delivering its enormous mandate. I have worked closely with the President from 2003 and I know that given the requisite support by all, his leadership will definitely take this country to the next level," he said.

In a statement yesterday, the former governor said the visit is historic, coming within the first 100 days of Ruto's presidency and on the eve of the 59th Jamhuri Day Celebrations.

" The visit has historical significance as Nyandarua was central to the freedom struggle and hosts gallant heroes of our freedom. It is evident that President Ruto is on record as the most visible VVIP to have visited Nyandarua since independence and we encourage him to continue visiting our friendly people who are dear to him. In this regard, I urge all Nyandarua residents to turn up in large numbers to welcome the 5th President and Commander in Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces," he said in a statement to newsrooms.

Kimemia, at the same time, appealed to President Ruto to complete the ongoing flagship projects that are very dear to the locals.

They include 600 kilometres of tarmac roads, including Ndunyu Njeru-Ihithe Road and 500-bed Level Six Mashujaa Complex at JM Hospital.
