Azimio-allied governors say William Ruto was unprepared for presidency

Governors allied to the Azimio-One Kenya coalition now say President William Ruto was unprepared for the country's top seat and responsibilities.

The twenty-six (26) governors who met in Naivasha on Thursday and Friday claim the current regime is clueless on how to fix Kenya's problems, and still in disbelief that they are steering the ship following their August 9 win.

"The regime was not prepared to lead, has no clue on how to fix Kenya's problems, and continue to be obsessed with campaigning. This regime of lies, deceit and false promises is out of its depth and shall not be allowed to ruin our lives," the governors said in a statement Friday.

Their statement comes in the back of a Twitter spat between President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Friday morning, over the plot to kick out four IEBC commissioners.

The two would go on and on in an exchange on their official Twitter pages, raising concerns about influencing justice and impunity.

Ruto first tweeted saying: "The lords of impunity, who destroyed oversight institutions using the handshake fraud, should allow Parliament to hold rogue officials who put the nation in danger by subverting the democratic will of the people to be held to account. New order is Rule of Law, not wishes of big men."

Odinga would then respond with: "There is due process and natural justice, things aren't just done at the whims of the executive. The rule of law must prevail and not your jungle laws that you want to institute so as to subjugate Kenyans to a conveyor belt system of elections come 2027. We shall not relent."

The governors have vowed to establish systems to fight for the rights of Kenyans, saying the country will not be dragged back to the days of oppression and dictatorship as they watch, while faulting the president's administration on the GMO stance.

"We shall robustly confront and oppose all dangerous policies and practices of the Kenya Kwanza regime including the sinister efforts to introduce GMO food, destruction of our environment including the re-introduction of the discredited shamba system, attempts to tax the most vulnerable segments of our society including mama mbogas, and increasing the cost of living," they stated.
