Ruth Odinga, the sister of ODM leader Raila Odinga, has been elected the Woman Representative of Kisumu County.
Ruth, who vied on ODM ticket, got 304,293 votes to be declared the winner.
Her closest rival Valentine Otieno of Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) Party got 80,117 votes.
Independent candidate Rose Auma came third with 36,692 votes.
The Woman Representative position was up for grabs after the incumbent, Rozaah Buyu, set her sights on the Kisumu West parliamentary seat, which she won.
In the National Assembly, she'll join 46 other woman representatives and 290 elected members of parliament. Another 12 MPs will be nominated by parties represented in the House based on strength, rounding out the 349 membership composition.
Ruth Odinga served as first Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma's deputy between 2013 and 2017.
In the 2022 governorship contest, the incumbent Anyang' Nyong'o of ODM defended his seat after getting 319,957 votes against his predecessor Jack Ranguma's 100,600 votes. Ranguma contested on MDG ticket.
Lawyer Tom Ojienda won the Kisumu senatorial seat by a landslide after amassing 413,121 votes against Jubilee Party's Enos Gundi's 15,575.
