Industrialisation CAS Karanja to run for Nakuru senatorial seat

Trade and Industrialisation CAS Lawrence Macharia Karanja will gun for the Nakuru senatorial seat in the next General Election.

The CAS announced his bid when he hosted lawyers drawn from across the country at the Rift Valley Sports Club, Nakuru, seeking their blessings and support.

“If you don’t have the support of family and colleagues, something is wrong. I called you here to announce that I will be on the ballot,” he said.

Karanja, a long-time serving lawyer in Nakuru, was once the chairperson of the Law Society of Kenya, Rift Valley region.

He said he was the right person for the job. Incumbent Susan Kihika will run to be Nakuru governor.

Nakuru is in the thick of party politics as leaders make calculated moves in selecting the right vehicles to propel them to power.

“I am consulting with the electorates on which party I should vie on... In due course, I shall announce the vehicle that we shall board,” said Karanja.
