BUNGOMA, KENYA: Bungoma High Court on Monday upheld the election of Webuye East Member of Parliament Alfred Sambu.
The Court ordered the petitioner Moses Lukoye (a voter) to pay sh4 Million cost.
The petitioner challenged the election of Alfred Sambu of UDF on allegations of voter bribery and malpractice on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries side.
In the morning ruling, Bungoma Judge Francis Gikonyo, said Sambu was elected in free and fair election.
"Petitioner did not prove his case, he was not able to prove allegation of voter bribery, and IEBC malpractices," he said.
"I hereby dismiss the petition for lack of merit, Sambu's election reflected voters will," he said.
There were four respondents in the case. CORD leader Raila Odinga, James Orengo, John Munyes among other leaders attended the ruling
