Mourners attending the late Bonchari MP John Oroo's funeral ceremony at Itierio Secondary School grounds were left in stitches when his widow Pamela Atieno took to the podium to eulogise her late husband.
Age is just a number; Atieno, 35, said amid laughter and cheers from the crowd, adding that she enjoyed 12 years of marriage with her husband who died aged 71.
She remembers the first Ekegusii word she learnt from her husband was 'nigwachete' (I love you).
"I enjoyed all the time I stayed with him. I had a perfect love and he loved our son. Only five per cent of the time was left for those who never wished us well."
Oroo met Atieno, his second wife 12 years ago when she was a student at St Angelic Teacher College Suneka. The MP was the proprietor of the Institution.
Oroo's first wife; Teresa Bitutu, a mother of five said she appreciates Atieno's son.
"Mzee has some property in Migori and in our community such is left for the sons. The young boy will take charge."
