Celebrities who have joined politics in 2022

In recent months, showbiz personalities have increasingly expressed interest in vying for political seats.

With the just concluded party primaries, we have witnessed the likes of Bahati Kenya securing Party tickets to compete in the upcoming elections. Bahati, who is vying for the Mathare Member of Parliament seat, in his acceptance speech, revealed that it was a dream come true.

“This is a dream come true not only to me as Bahati; But to the Youth & my people of Mathare who for so long have been praying for an MP made in Mathare,” he said in part.

On the other hand, comedian Jalang’o also secured an ODM ticket in the race for the Langata parliamentary seat.

“Overwhelmingly voting me as the ODM Langata constituency flagbearer is a clear show of your trust in me. Now, they say with great power comes great responsibility,” he said.
