Former President Uhuru Kenyatta met with representatives from the United States Embassy in Kenya and the United Kingdom High Commission in Kenya.
This comes barely a week after President William Ruto visited Uhuru in his Ichaweri home in Gatundu, Kiambu County, where the duo held a closed-door meeting.
In a post on his official X page, the fourth president shared pictures with the two teams, saying their talks focused majorly on peace in Nairobi and the region.
“Marc Dillard, the new Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Kenya, and UK High Commissioner to Kenya, Neil Wigan, separately paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency President (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta at his Gatundu home. Their discussions focused on the Nairobi Peace Process and regional peace initiatives,” the post was captioned.
The retired president’s aide Kanze Dena disclosed that the diplomats had paid a visit to Uhuru’s home in Gatundu too.
On his official page, Marc Dillard said ‘Enjoyed an open and productive exchange of ideas and insights, particularly on regional peace and security,”
On Monday, Uhuru and his successor made the first direct engagement since their political fallout after the March 9 2018 handshake.
State House said the two engaged in discussions centred on matters of national and regional importance.
