The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has revoked operating licenses for sixty-four matatu Saccos.
Some of the PSV operators include commonly used ones such as Mbukinya, Kensilver, Nyeri Shuttle, Murang’a Supreme Shuttle, Chania Transport Company, and Vision Shuttle.
Nairobi Metropolitan area operators that have also been pulled off the roads are Kawangware Matatu Sacco, Oromat, Mat Two Friends, Eleventh Hour, Telaviv Travellers, Welkan 48 Travellers, Mwirona Sacco and Runka Services.
Further, NTSA has warned Kenyans against using the matatus, adding that the police have already been notified to enforce the directive.
“The National Police Service has been advised to impound vehicles belonging to the Saccos/Companies found operating following the revocation of their licenses,” said the NTSA Director-General.
