Kisii governor Simba Arati has been named the new Deputy Chairperson of the Orange Democratic Movement's (ODM) National Executive Committee (NEC).

The announcement was made by the party on Friday, September 8, where it named other changes in the leadership of the party.

"The following are the changes made to the membership of the party's NEC. This follows resignations or defections by the former holders of the positions," read ODM's post on X.

According to the notice, Arati will replace former Kisii Woman Representative Janet Ong'era.

Current Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo has replaced her predecessor Florence Mutua as the new Deputy Secretary General for the committee.

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has taken over from former Kwale Woman Rep Zulekha Hassan as the new Deputy Organising Secretary.

The Deputy National Treasurer position is now under Kwale Woman Rep, Fatuma Masito, who takes over from former treasurer Olga Karani.

Migori Senator Eddie Oketch is now the new Secretary for Humanitarian and Disaster Management Affairs after taking over from activist Bob Njagi.

The new NEC's Secretary for Security is Kakamega Woman Rep Elsie Muhanda who replaced Justus Kazito.
