The Summit whose theme is 'driving green growth and climate finance solutions for Africa and the World' was officially opened by President William Ruto.
Increased exposure to climate change as well as the repercussions globally and specifically in Africa, will be addressed during the Summit.
Several areas including City Hallway, Wabera Street, Parliament Road, and the Supreme Court will remain sealed off until the end of the Summit which will be September 6.
Over 300,000 delegates and over 25 Heads of State are expected to grace the event and will be received by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua and Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha.
The first day of the Summit is branded Ministerial Day, where ministers are more involved in the Summit's activities as heads of state attend to other official responsibilities.
