In Moi Avenue Primary, a school located in Nairobi city, parents reportedly feared to take their children to school and only a handful of students reported.

The same was witnessed in Kisumu County where a number of day schools remained closed.

Kisumu city generally remained calm with little activity on the roads.

The protests have been called by Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga who among other demands wants the Kenya Kwanza government to lower the cost of living.
