Nairobi Expressway to close over the weekend for City Marathon

The Nairobi Expressway is set for a temporary closure over the weekend to make way for the Nairobi City Marathon which will take place on Sunday, July 2.

"Please note that the Nairobi Expressway will be temporarily closed from Saturday, July 1 at 10:00pm to Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 4:00pm as we host the second edition of the Nairobi City Marathon," said Moja Expressway company in a notice on Monday.

To avoid any inconvenience, the company has advised all expressway users to "plan their journey accordingly".

The second edition of the marathon was launched on June 21 as it was set to feature different categories of competition including 42 kilometres full marathon, half marathon and 6km fun run.

The start point for all the races will be at Aerodrome Road whereas the finish points will vary with the length of the races.
