More State appointments: Dr Manoj Shah to chair NTSA Board

President William Ruto has appointed Dr Manoj Shah as the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

Dr Shah will be at the helm of the board for a period of three years, effective June 9.

"I, William Samoei Ruto, appoint Dr Manoj Shah to be the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority, for a period of three years, with effect from June, 9, 2023," a gazette notice dated June 9 read in part.

The president has also revoked the appointment of Aden Noor Ali.

Ruto appointed Ali as the chairperson of the NTSA Board on February 4, 2023.

Ali, an ally of President Ruto, vied unsuccessfully for the Mandera governorship in the 2022 General Election.

Prior to the 2022 polls, Ali also served as a member of the Transport Licensing Appeals Board.

President Ruto has also appointed Jacob Kamau Kahiu as the chairperson of the Tea Board of Kenya for a period of three years.

Kamau's term begins on Friday, June 9.

Further, the appointment of David Kiarie Mburu has been revoked.
