Former PS Irungu Nyakera appointed KEMSA board chair

President William Ruto has gazetted the appointment of Irungu Nyakera as the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) board chair.

Nyakera previously served as the Principal Secretary in the State Department of Transport.

His appointment follows the revocation of Daniel Rono's appointment who had been holding the same role since March 2023.

Nyakera will serve for a period of three years effective May 15, 2023.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 (1) (a) of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces of the Republic of Kenya, appoints- Irungu Nyakera as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority, for a period of three (3) years."

Other persons who have been appointed to the KEMSA board are; FCPA Hezbon Oyieko, Bernard Kipkirui Bett, Dr Jane Masiga and Jane Nyagaturi.

They will also serve for a period of three years.
