The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has directed the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to close Terminal 2 on Friday, February 24, and Sunday, February 26.
Terminal 2 will be closed for six hours on Friday from 11am to 5pm, and for 12 hours on Sunday between 6am and 6pm.
The closure will facilitate the United States of America First Lady Jill Biden's movement.
"This is, therefore, to advise you to relocate your operations to Terminal 1 within the stipulated time period to allow smooth facilitation of the VVIP and operations," said Abel Gogo, the Kenya Airports Authority manager in charge of JKIA.
Jill is expected to visit Namibia between February 22 and February 23, and thereafter Kenya between February 24 and February 26.
According to the White House, Jill's visit to the two countries aims to strengthen the African continent's US partnerships and advance its shared priorities in the region.
Her engagements will focus on the empowerment of women and youth, efforts to address food insecurity, and promoting shared democratic values.
This trip will be her first to Africa since she became First Lady in January 2021.
