President Ruto makes new appointments; Samson Kipkoech to chair Tourism Fund

President William Ruto on Friday made more appointments to the parastatals.

Samson Kipkoech Some will be the new chairperson of the Tourism Fund Board for a period of three years, replacing Alphonse Kioko whose appointment has been revoked.

Dr. Abdillahi Ibrahim will be the new chairperson of the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) after the appointment of Dr. Daniel Mbinda Musyoka was revoked.

Musyoka's appointment was made in February 2021 during President Uhuru Kenyatta's tenure.

At the same time, Dr. Ruto appointed Alfred Khang'ati the chairperson of Nzoia Sugar Company Limited Board of Directors for a period of three years.

Khang'ati is the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Kanduyi Constituency. He served between 2008 and 2013, during which he was an Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister.

The appointments were published in the Kenya Gazette on Friday, February 17.
