President William Ruto is set to leave the country tonight, Monday, January 23, for a three-day official trip to France and Senegal.
According to a statement by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed, the president will meet his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and discuss the status of key development projects such as Regional peace and security.
After his trip to France, Ruto will visit Dakar, Senegal, where he will be the keynote speaker at the Dakar 2 Summit.
The theme for the summit is 'Feed Africa: Food, Sovereignty and Resilience.'
"It is an appropriate forum for Heads of State and other partners to discuss how to exploit Africa's agricultural potential and the plans and programmes that will help scale up production," said Mohammed.
"It will also be an opportunity for leaders in the continent to find ways through which Africa can meet the rising cost of food," he added.
