Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba has sought a statement from the Standing Committee on Information, Communication and Technology of the Senate on the management of Media Council of Kenya funds.

The Nominated Senator who is the committee vice chairperson also sought a probe into reports of alleged nepotism in the recruitment of staff by the media regulator and the tabling of board resolutions in regard to training.

"I am asking for the shedding of light on allegations of mismanagement of council's funds and disclosure of any irregularities if any giving the particulars of those complicit while stating disciplinary measures preferred against any culpable officials," said Orwoba.

The Nominated Senator wants the Senate ICT Committee to table the council's audited financial statement covering the last three years.
