Ugali politics: Unga crisis is a potent political weapon against the incumbent

Today, we should be celebrating that the hoi-polloi can breathe a sigh of relief because Ugali is back. Days earlier, the brakes were also pressed against the upward mobility of pump prices, at least for the next four weeks. Depending on which side of the political divide one stands, the two interventions is either good news from a caring government or a pure political con-game to hoodwink voters into casting their lot the government way.

Here, we take no political sides in as far as is possible. Admittedly however, it is very difficult to navigate this question without appearing to be biased. But not to call the issue into context is equally cowardice and betrayal to our highest ideals as a people and society. Loyalty to the nation, the people of Kenya and honor to our civic obligations demand that someone has the face the truth, inconvenient as it maybe to some quarters.
