Party of National Unity has begun revamping itself in readiness of a deal with Raila Odinga’s ODM party.

The party that steered former President Kibaki to power for his second term has since opened up 15 new branches.

The new offices are in Nyeri, Nakuru, Laikipia, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Meru, Kiambu, Thika town and Nyandarua.

PNU national organising secretary John Kamama said more offices will be opened outside Mt Kenya region. The party also plans to launch an aspirants’ forum.

Aspirants seeking the party ticket have been pushing it to clarify the difference it made if one stood on a PNU or an ODM ticket especially in cosmopolitan areas like Kajiado, Nakuru and Nairobi.

The flurry of activities are expected to culminate in a formal working relationship between ODM and PNU.

The two parties have been working together and conducting joint events branded the Grand Re-union of former Grand Coalition Government partners (2008-2013).
