Nancy Kigunzu alias Mathe wa Ngara and one co-accused have been denied bail in a case where they are charged with trafficking bhang worth Sh18.3 million.

JKIA Magistrate Njeri Thuku said that the prosecution had placed the court with compelling reasons that the two were a flight risk.

She said that in the interest of justice, she would not grant the two; Nancy Indovera Kigunzu and Eugene Otiende Jumba aged 19- bond as they were involved in drug trafficking.

Another suspect, Teresia Wanjiru was granted bail of Sh50 000 with two contact persons.

One of the contact persons should be a blood relative and present herself to the JKIA Probation office within seven days to file a social report.

The minor in the case has been transferred to the children's court at Milimani Law Court and placed under the care at Kabete Children's Home since no adult had come to claim him.

The mention of his case will be on September 19, while that of Teresia will be on September 4, 2023.
