Homicide detectives have launched investigations into the death of a couple in Kamukunji, Nairobi County, days after they were last seen.

Police say the duo’s decomposed bodies were found on the night of Monday, November 8, inside their Umoja Estate house.

According to a tweet by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the 18-year-old man and his girlfriend (a Seychelles national) had struggled with their murderers before they were killed.

“Signs of vehement struggle at the living room and a bloody floor across a corridor leading to the restroom and the bedroom left responders mouth agape,” DCI tweeted.

The detectives say a report made by the young man’s grandfather days after the duo’s phones went unanswered prompted them to launch a search for the two, starting with their house.

“This triggered (sic) the grandfather to show up at his kin's door, only to be met by a foul smell emanating from the inside of a locked door (sic). The door had been locked from outside using a padlock,” the detectives said.

The young woman’s lifeless body, according to the detectives, was lying by a toilet bowl soaked in blood.

They add that she had multiple stab wounds on the shoulder, breasts, lower abdomen.

The officers say that they found a second body, sprawled on the floor and the neck tied with a cable.

The hands too had been tied to the back with a piece of cloth, had multiple stab wounds on the back and a deep cut at the back of the neck.

The deceased’s grandfather identified the body before it was transferred to the morgue for autopsy as the investigators commenced probing the two deaths.

They also noted that a 43’ Television set, two laptops, a music system and the duo’s mobile phones were missing from the scene.
