Jubilee Party Executive Director James Waweru dies in hospital

Jubilee Party Executive Director James Waweru is dead.

Waweru died at Nairobi’s Karen Hospital while undergoing treatment.

At the time of publishing, the cause of death was yet to be established.

Confirming to The Standard, Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju described his death as a “big blow to Jubilee.”

ODM leader Raila Odinga sent his condolence message to the family and friends saying:

Waweru took over the party’s operations last year in February following Tuju’s road accident.  

He also served as Sports Principal Secretary and Nairobi Provincial Commission during President Mwai Kibaki’s administration.
