The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is investigating the use of Covid-19 funds in several counties.
The EACC Commissioner Dabar Abdi said the agency was concerned by the high number of cases of alleged misuse of funds.
"Most of these cases are related to procurement in government agencies, an issue that we are working to eliminate," Abdi said.
The commissioner was speaking during this year's commemoration of the International Anti-Corruption Day that was marked in Nyamira County on Wednesday.
During the day, the Nyamira County Government and County Assembly signed a memorandum of commitment on strategy towards alleviating systemic corruption in the devolved unit.
Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo and Assembly Speaker Moffat Teya both signed the agreement and verbally committed to aid the EACC in tackling the vice.
Nyaribo accused the graft agency of failing to account for the many cases it has taken up for investigation or for prosecution.
"We have seen EACC raiding various establishments and arresting people. Where do you take the cases? To date Kenyans have never been told the outcome?" Nyaribo asked.
EACC will be in the county for a month to promote good governance.
