It is time for graft suspects 'kuwa wagonjwa' when due in court

As we watched over Uganda's boringly predictable elections, we almost took our collective eye off our homegrown corruption ball as it gathered pace. Denials and threats of legal action were bandied about.

Acolytes refused to "die alone", whistle-blowers found themselves being berated for whistling a dirge at night, while political operatives decried the traitors shelling out millet among free-range opposition chicken. Oh, what a week! What an incredulous tale of 'creative accounting' at its finest!

Since nobody ever resigns in Kenya, we look forward to the next chapter where suspects claim their lives are in mortal peril and even get hospitalized the day before they are due in court.

 Indeed, lawyers should quickly wrap up their LSK polls so they can begin to file injunctions and objections.
