St Mary’s Yala racket games coach Martin Mola is confident his players will qualify for the nationals as five boys are set to represent Siaya County at the Nyanza region finals that begin today at Kisii School.

Jeremiah Branson, Actros Otieno and Emmanuel Odhiambo will be in action in table tennis.

“These boys are talented and we want to show the country that we can also do well in racket games just as we are known for rugby and football,” said Mola.

On the other hand, Rayan Marty and Emmanuel Madere will be representing not only St Marys Yala but also Siaya County at the regionals in long tennis.

Yala long tennis coach Willis Ogaja added that the boys are more than ready to show their talents in tennis.

“We have been preparing very well for the regionals and I believe the boys are ready. Sports is a culture here at Yala and it is important just as education is and we are going to guide them to victory,” said Ogaja.

St Mary’s Yala is a renowned academic and sports giant in Kenya.
