Coast region girls' football champions Kombani gave an inspiring performance during the Kwale County secondary schools Term Two games at Samburu School.

Coached by the 2018 SOYA school coach of the year Mukasa Amboko, Kombani successfully retained the county title for the third consecutive year after they beat Kaya Tiwi 2-0 in the final.

Kombani's splendid show was coupled with spectacular goals where Halima Bakari, Mwanajuma Hamadi and Salma Shadrack scored goals at will.

Kombani from Kwale County, beat Tana River's Minhaj 3-1 in last year's final and they will be back to defend the title next month during the regional games.

En route to the final, Kombani humiliated Lukore 8-0, while Kaya Tiwi needed post match penalties after a scoreless draw to beat Shimba Hills 2-1 in another semifinal.

In boys football final, Shimba Hills had an easy passage after they clobbered the host Samburu 4-0 in a one sided match.

The champions were pushed to the wire before squeezing a narrow 1-0 win against Mwavumbo while Samburu beat Kaya Tiwi 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw the normal time during the semifinals.

In Taita Taveta County, the rivalry between Dr Aggrey and Timbila was exhibited when the two teams met in the boys football final.

Dr Aggrey under the close monitoring of their principal Robert Alan played like true champions to edge out Timbila 2-1 to retain the title for the second year running.

The county winners proceed for the Coast region games to be held next month in Tana River County.

At the same time, the Mombasa County games that were scheduled for last weekend were pushed to Thursday through Saturday.

Coast region boys football champions Serani are psyched to defend the title.

Serani coach Swaleh 'Sunda' Abdalla said the boys have trained well for the games

" The boys have been actively involved in playing in several tournaments in collaboration with Bandari Youth and we are set for the tasks she's of us," said Abdalla.

Serani start their title chase against Miritini Complex in a pool A match that also has Khadija and St Charles Lwanga.

Former Coats region champions Tononoka have been pooled in group B that has Miritini secondary school, Moi Forces Academy and Marimani.
