Chrispine Mudhune and Angela Kairu are the winners of the 2024 Red Cross Golf Tournament in men and women’s categories respectively.

Playing off handicap 16, Mudhune fired 61 stableford points to achieve the feat ahead of A. Kweya as Mutuku Musyoka finished third in the tournament staged at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club.

This was part of a charitable initiative through sports which was sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as Nairobi became the first African city to host the Innovative and Giving Machines event.

The Giving Machines, designed as large red vending machines, allow individuals to donate, then distributed by local non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The launch is slated for November 30 at Sarit Centre, Nairobi.

Handicap 46 Angela clinched the Ladies title with 63 points while handicap 11 Chris Isabwa was the first nine winner with 33 points followed by handicap 26 Hardeep Sokhi on 31 points.

Longest drive honours for men and women were Morris Njue and Martha Mbote respectively.

Nearest to the pin honours went to Mary Cox.

“The Giving Machines are an embodiment of love in action, bringing people together to help those in need in a fun and memorable way,” said George Munene, representative of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
