Agengo shine at Roadcruza Golf Day

Carren Agengo overcame a career-threatening shoulder injury to win the Highview-presented RoadCruza Golf Day at the Kenya Railway Golf Club.

Agengo returned to winning ways after her long absence from the course to win the overall title at the event, which attracted a field of 128 golfers. Playing off handicap 20, Agengo posted an authoritative score of 41 stableford points to lift the title.

Lawrence Kinyori, playing off handicap 22, came in second with 38 stableford points, while Doris Night secured the third position with 37 stableford points.

Agengo expressed her excitement about being back on the course after the shoulder surgery and being able to play, noting that her game is improving. She mentioned sinking several pars and a couple of birdies and looks forward to playing again for the Kenya Railway League team.

In the men's category, the winner was Willson Sossion, playing off handicap 26, with 36 stableford points, followed by Moses Okech, who took the second prize with 35 stableford points.

The Lady winner prize was won by Joyce Gikunda, playing off handicap 20 with 34 stableford points, while Virginia Munyao secured the second prize with 33 stableford points.

Bob Odhiambo won the Guest prize with 37 stableford points, and Lunar Magero took the second prize with 35 stableford points.

Elite golfer Joseph Gathumbi carded 34 Gross stableford points to lift the Gross prize. George Gacheru led the sponsors with 36 stableford points, and Vice-captain John Kaimenyi was the Nearest To the Pin winner.

Edwin Cherop won the Front Nine prize with 23 stableford points, and Henry Owuor secured the second prize with 19 stableford points. Joseph Gathumbi also won the Longest Drive Men prize, while Veronica Wanjiku won in the ladies category.
