SCHOOLS: Maseno School and Nyabondo dominate rugby sevens at Kisumu County games

The Kisumu County Secondary School games are in full swing at Maseno School, with Maseno School and Nyabondo showcasing their dominance in the rugby sevens competitions.

In the boys' category, Maseno School demonstrated their prowess on the field with two impressive victories. They crushed Kisumu Day 35-0 in their opening match and continued their winning streak with a 31-12 triumph over Thurdibuoro. Maseno's solid defense and high-scoring offense have positioned them as a top contender in the tournament.

Nyabondo also made a significant impact with their exceptional performance. They opened their campaign with a commanding 36-0 win against Chemelil and followed it up with an even more dominant 52-0 victory over Magwar. Nyabondo's relentless attack and airtight defense have made them a formidable force in the competition.

Other notable results in the boys' matches include Onjiko's 33-5 win over Kuoyo and a 29-7 victory against Ngere, while Kisumu Boys secured a 36-0 win against Nyamasaria but had to settle for a 7-7 draw with Otieno Oyoo. In another close encounter, Kisumu Day edged out Thurdibuoro 5-0.

In the girls' category, Kisumu Girls and Nyakach Girls have been the standout teams. Kisumu Girls started strong with a 34-0 victory over Thurdibuoro but faced a setback with a 0-5 loss to Koru. Nyakach Girls have been unstoppable, securing a 5-0 win against Lions and a dominating 34-0 victory over Sinyolo. Their consistent performance has set them apart as one of the leading teams in the tournament.

Ojolla Girls have also made their presence felt with a 17-5 win against Koru and a 22-0 triumph over Thurdibuoro. Kanyamedha Girls played two close matches, drawing 5-5 with both Sinyolo and Lions.

As the tournament progresses, Maseno School and Nyabondo continue to be the teams to watch in the boys' rugby sevens, while Kisumu Girls and Nyakach Girls lead the charge in the girls' competition. The Kisumu County Secondary School games promise more exciting matches and high-level competition as the teams battle for the championship titles.
