An estimated 200 golfers to grace the six legs of the 2024 NCBA Golf Series set to make a return this Saturday at the par 71 ‘Home of Golf’ Muthaiga Golf Club Course in Nairobi.

The Series returns after a brief hiatus caused by inclement weather conditions that affected various Golf courses around the Country for the past three weeks.

The golfers will be vying for coveted slots in the tournament that will provide an opportunity for six standout performers to secure their slots at the NCBA Golf Series 2024, Grand Finale.

These slots will be awarded to the Division 1 Male and Female Winners, Division 2 Male and Female Winners, the Overall Winner of Division 3, and the top performer in the Junior category.

Muthaiga Club Captain, Bo Ciera, said they are delighted as a Club to be hosting the Series once again and NCBA has been a key partner of the club for a long time now.

“We are very delighted that they have given us this opportunity to be part of the series. Our course is in impeccable condition, ready to challenge and inspire golfers of all levels and with the support of our partner NCBA and the enthusiasm of our players, I am confident that this tournament will be a memorable one, “said Bo Ciera.

Speaking ahead of the event, NCBA Group Managing Director, John Gachora, said, "As we return to Muthaiga for the next leg of the NCBA Golf Series, I am thrilled to witness the passion and skill of our golfers on display. This tournament not only showcases the best of Kenyan golf but also embodies our commitment to supporting the growth and development of the sport in our community. Meanwhile, the NCBA U.S. Kids Golf Fall Local Tour tournament continues this weekend at the same venue with at least 186 junior golfers aged between 5- and 18-years old set to participate.

The tournament is jointly organized by U.S. Kids Golf and the Junior Golf Foundation Kenya (JKF), with the support of NCBA Bank as part of its continued commitment to supporting Junior Golf development in the region.

The event aims to provide the Juniors with a platform to refine their skills and enhance their competitiveness as well as offer the junior golfers a chance to qualify for international tournaments organized by U.S. Kids Golf by earning points for Priority Status.

The NCBA US Kids Fall Tour has successfully conducted seven major events at Limuru Country Club, Sigona Golf Club, Karen Country Club, Vet Lab Sports Club, and Windsor Golf Club which hosted 3 of the events. Despite some clubs being affected by floods, the resilience and dedication of the organizers ensured the successful completion of these events.

JGF tournament Director Kimani Gicheru said that the Foundation extends its heartfelt appreciations to the NCBA Group for their unwavering support and that the partnership has significantly contributed to the development and nurturing of young talent in the sport of Golf, providing a valuable platform for juniors to showcase their skills.

“Lastly, we commend the junior golfers for their commitment to the sport, adherence to the rules, and for inspiring their peers to take up golf. We also express our gratitude to the parents for their dedication and effort in ensuring that their children participate in these tournaments. Your support is invaluable, “said Gicheru.
