The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has been forced to postpone the FKF Premier League match between Shabana FC and Posta Rangers, scheduled for Saturday at Gusii Stadium, due to an unexpected crisis involving match officials.

In a statement released by FKF Communications, it was revealed that the match officials, who had attended a pre-match meeting, mysteriously disappeared just before kick-off, leaving fans, players, and club officials in confusion.

This last-minute disappearance forced the postponement of the match, which had drawn large crowds eager to witness the action between the two teams.

"The FKF acknowledges the current situation regarding the match officials assigned to officiate the FKF Premier League match between Shabana FC and Posta Rangers, who unfortunately disappeared prior to kick-off," the statement read. "We understand the frustration and confusion this has caused among fans, players, and club officials alike."

The Federation emphasized that they are conducting a thorough investigation to understand the reasons behind the match officials' no-show. In the meantime, they are working diligently to find alternative referees to ensure that the integrity of the match is upheld.

However, FKF cautioned that if replacement officials do not arrive in time, they might have to reschedule the match to maintain the standards of officiating required for the league.

FKF reassured all stakeholders, including fans and clubs, that they are prioritizing the issue and will provide updates as more information becomes available. The governing body remains dedicated to fostering a safe and fair environment for all involved in Kenyan football.

This unusual situation has left the league in an uncertain state, with fans anxiously awaiting further developments.
