Defending champions Kisumu Day are through to the Kisumu County Secondary School football semifinals.

The Nyanza football giants hammered Kasagam 4-0 before humbling hosts Maseno School 3-0 on Thursday in the matches that kicked off at Maseno School.

Benson ‘Maasai’ Lomuria was the star of the day as he scored a brace to help Kisumu Day in their opening Group A victory over Kasagam.

Kennedy Ochieng and Braidone Simidi netted in the 4-0 victory to set the ball rolling for Day.

Kisumu Day top Group A with six points and seven goals followed by Kasagam who have three points same as Maseno School but above the hosts due to superior goal difference.

That means Maseno needs a win of any sort against Kasagam on Friday to qualify to semis. A draw or defeat will see Kasagam make it to the last four.

In Group B, Ndiru got three easy points after a 2-0 walk over gifted to them by Obambo as Katolo lost 1-0 to Agai.

Action continues on Friday.
